A little introduction
Writing love letters
To celebrate Love, the students of 1st Year Bachillerato A have written a letter to answer Mr Darcy's love declaration to Elizabeth Bennet, who are the main characters in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
Why we should write a Love Letter
Love letters were very popular in the past. With the rise of modern means of communication, love letters, and letters generally, have fallen into disfavor. However, they have special properties that no modern form of communication can duplicate.
A handwritten letter is something tangible that we touch and hold. And they are preserved and cherished in a way that text messages or email never will be.
The love letters you write are a record of your relationship for the rest of their lives (unless you break up and then the letters will give you the satisfaction of having something to burn,...).
It's a chance to express your feelings in a more ardent way than you do on a day-to-day basis. Your beloved cannot hear too many times that they're great and that you love them. They want to know that you still feel the same way as you did when you first met, or, the same way as you felt last Monday.
If you also write or include a poem, that would be perfection.
But Replying to it ... is so much fun.

Dear Ms Elizabeth,
I have struggled against my feelings for you but I can't fight them any more. I don't care that you don't have any money or connections. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you and I have done so for a long time. I want to marry you.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Darcy

Dear Mr Darcy,
Sorry for the delay, but making this decision has taken me a long time, I have given a lot of thought to your proposal and I have come to the conclusion that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Despite our social differences and opinion of the people closest to us, I have decided to look out for myself and for what I truly feel. I can't wait to see you and spend all the rest of my life with you. I await your answer.
See you soon.
With love

Dear Mr.Darcy,
I also have something to tell you. I have been loving and admiring you for a very long time too. Fitzwilliam, I want to marry you too because the first thing I felt when looking at you was love at first sight,. felt really flattered by your proposal. I hope that we can arrange a meeting very soon because I have been missing you every day since I last saw you that summer night in London. When you can, come and visit me and we will prepare the wedding.
Yours sincerely,
Ms.Elizabeth.

Dear Mr. Darcy,
Thanks for the letter, my love. I love you, too, but I won't be able to marry you. My father has arranged for me to marry a duke. He is a duke of this state and he is one secret nephew of England's king. Unfortunately, I should be married in May of this year. I would like to marry you but you know how my father is. If I fail, my father will throw me away from the house. I'm so sorry because I would like to spend the time of my life with you. In another life it will be.
Yours sincerely,
Ms Elizabeth

Dear Mr Darcy,
I did not expect this letter from you, the truth is that this feeling of love is mutual. I know that even though our social class is different, I love you and yes I would marry you. I love the way you are and the way you make me feel, special with just one look. Just to tell you that I would be willing to do anything in this life to be by your side.
The other day at the dance I felt jealous to see you dancing with the others and I even thought that in reality for you all this was a game, but it has become very clear to me that all this is very serious. I hope from the bottom of my heart that this letter will be to your liking as yours has been to mine.
I look forward to hearing from you, but above all I hope to see you as soon as possible.
With all my love,
Ms Elizabeth

Dear Mr. Darcy,
I like your proposal, it is very emotional and very beautiful.
In the first place, I have loved you too for a long time and I can't fight with my feelings either. I hadn't told you because I thought that you were in love with the other girl.
I have to tell you that I am not interested in your money or connections and if I am with you, it is because I love you.
Today I want to talk with you. I would like to marry you one day but for the moment, I am very young and I have many projects in my mind.
Yours sincerely

Dear Mr. Darcy,
I received your letter after a long time. I need to tell you one thing, I am so sorry to say that but at this moment, my father wants to marry me to Colonel Humphy.
Although his love means nothing to me, I have no option. I cannot see you and marry you. My love for father is worth nothing, he just wants me not to miss anything, but he does not realize my anxious desire is to be with you
This is the sad news that I have to give you. No, I can't marry you. This will be the last letter I will send you, before my father discovers us and sees me that I have lost my honour.
I just have to say goodbye

Dear Mr. Darcy,
I was delighted to receive your letter, I really liked it.
It is a great proposal and you are very brave for being honest with me but I think your family would not let you be with a woman like me, because we are very different.
However, I would love to be with you. When I spend time with you, you make me feel special.
I will do everything possible to make this work out, please do your part so that everything goes well.
Wish you the best

Dear Mr Darcy,
I have been waiting for this letter for a long time, I am very excited, I can hardly get the words to write to you.
I had thought that perhaps my love for you was not reciprocated, but now I see that I was wrong.
Mr Darcy, I have admired and loved you deeply from the first day I saw you at that dance, since then I have not stopped thinking about you at any time of the day.
That poverty does not mean anything to you says a lot about you, that's why I fell in love with you, because even if you are proud you are humble and generous.
Finally, Mr Darcy, of course I want to marry you and start a family with you.
Yours sincerely,
Ms Elizabeth

Dear Mr. Darcy,
I was really impressed when I read your letter. I don't accept your marriage proposal because I am not ready to marry you since I don't fully trust you.
On the other hand, my parents have arranged a marriage with another boy called John from the same social class as me. But even though we can't get married, we can remain friends so as not to lose the friendship we have had for so long.
Yours sincerely,
Ms Elizabeth

Dear Mr. Darcy,
I feel the same way you do, even though I didn't dare to tell you. But the whole wedding thing is too hasty and I need time to get to know you. I never thought you'd notice me because of my money and my social relations since they're way below yours. But you've given me great joy in telling me because I never imagined it and that's why, I didn't propose before, but I had been in love with you for a long time, but I wasn't able to act out of fear, but now I'm looking forward to seeing you and looking forward to the time when I'll see you.
Yours sincerely,
Ms Elizabeth Bennet

Dear Mr Darcy
I have received your letter and I love you too. These days I only think of you, your smile and your blonde hair, your hands. I want to see and I want to stay with you. I also admire you and I love you. I think that marriage is a good idea but our fathers won't like it because they have been enemies for a long time. We should do it without them because it is the best option so that they don't fight. I am waiting for your answer nervously because I want to get married to you soon too.
Yours sincerely,
Ms. Elizabeth
